As soon as you graduate from UMBC, you can reap the benefits of membership in the UMBC Alumni Association. And, since membership is free, you can sign up to use on-campus facilities, or get great discounts on insurance and more, right away! Here are some of the latest perks of being a UMBC alum:
Retriever Net - UMBC's Alumni Online Community
Find your old friends and search for new ones by logging on to Retriever Net, UMBC’s online directory. Not only can you update your contact and personal information with the click of a mouse, you can sign up for a free name@alum.umbc.edu e-mail account!
On-Campus Benefits
All alumni have access to a number of facilities at UMBC long after they graduate. Visit the UMBC campus to gain access to the Albin O. Kuhn Library or find a new job at the Career Services Center. Alums also get discounted rates for theatre and music productions on campus, and receive the Alumni e-Triever – a great source of alumni and campus news online – for free!

Alumni ID Card – Fill out an online form to receive your UMBC Alumni ID card, which will get you access to the Albin O. Kuhn Library and the Retriever Activities Center, as well as discounts at local businesses.

Retriever Activities Center (RAC) Memberships – The UMBC athletic/recreation department offers a special discounted rate to all alumni who want to use the facilities at the newly-renovated Retriever Activities Center. Amenities include exercise equipment, weight room, indoor track, pool, basketball courts, tennis courts, locker rooms and group fitness classes. The alumni rate for membership is $250 per year, with 6 month, 3 month and 1 month rates available.

UMBC Bookstore and Retriever Pro Shop – Show the world you're a UMBC alum! Get "alumni"-branded UMBC clothing, hats, and stickers, as well as all you'll need to cheer on your favorite teams, at these two campus shops.

Tuition discounts at UMBC
UMBC Training Centers offers a 5% tuition discount to all alumni of UMBC. This discount is applicable to Information Technology, Professional Development and Business, Engineering, Biotechnology, and Test Preparation training courses. UMBC License Plate
The UMBC Alumni Association is pleased to offer UMBC affinity license plates from the MVA to Maryland residents for just $30. Each sale brings $5 into the Association's program fund, which helps provide services, events and programs to all alumni. University of Maryland Cellular Discount Program
Cellular wireless services and equipment are now available from Sprint/Nextel and Cingular to the University of Maryland, College Park community. These services include university accounts as well as those for students, faculty, staff, and alumni. These plans are also available for all University System of Maryland institutions. Services and equipment include cellular telephones, cases, batteries, power cords, chargers, airtime service, text messaging, voice mail, e-mail, caller identification, Web access, etc. Telephone devices encompass basic, standard, and advanced levels of equipment. Alumni E-Triever
All alumni receive a free, monthly subscription to the Alumni E-Triever, an e-mail newsletter containing information about news and events relevant to alumni.
Alumni Admissions Referral Program
In appreciation of the support of our valued donors, the Offices of Alumni Relations and Undergraduate Admissions have created the Alumni Admissions Referral Program. This new program offers alumni the opportunity to continue to share with others the academic excellence of UMBC. Your genuine spirit and enthusiasm for UMBC allow you to serve as one of our best ambassadors. Any UMBC alumni donor of the past three years will be mailed two application fee vouchers (to waive the $50 admissions application fee) that can be shared with qualified, degree seeking applicants for UMBC.
