The Legends of Excellence brunch, which was held on April 14, 2007 in the UMBC University Center Ballroom, acknowledged the extraordinary individual contributions of faculty and staff who have been instrumental in the lives of UMBC's African-American and Latino students over the past 40 years.

Special performances by the Agua Fria band and the UMBC Gospel Choir.
Funds raised at the event supported the Second Generation Scholarship and newly-created Esperanza Scholarship Fund, which recognize outstanding students who have demonstrated a commitment to the advancement of minorities. Click here to make an online gift to either of these scholarships.
