To whom much is given, much is expected.

As we celebrate the achievements of the Meyerhoff Scholarship Program and its graduates, please take the time to make a gift to the program to mark this special anniversary. Your gift will demonstrate both your appreciation and your commitment to future Meyerhoff Scholars.

Why Give Back?

In a speech to his fellow alumni at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum during the 20th Anniversary weekend, M3 William Christian '95, mathematics, explained:

“Mr. Meyerhoff and his family and so many others have been very generous to us, and the whole point of the Meyerhoff Program is that we would develop into professionals and that we regenerate,” he said. “If every alum gave $45 we could pay for two scholarships. Now just imagine if you gave $100. Whatever your resources look like, that’s the kind of resources we need.”

Here's what some other alumni have to say about giving back to the Meyerhoff Scholarship Program.

"When I think of where I am today I know that I owe much to the Meyerhoff Scholarship Program and UMBC. This is where I grew up, learned to speak to a crowd, became a leader, made life-long friends, first gave serious thought to a Ph.D., and met the smartest people I know to this day.  When I think of the transition of myself and my cohorts it makes me want to be sure that the program continues so that many others will have the same opportunities.

One way I know to do this is to give back my time and – just as importantly – my money.  I just made the first of what I know will be many contributions to the Meyerhoff Scholarship Program.  I am now challenging you to give with me to make my gift even more significant.  I hope that you will rise to the challenge and encourage others to do the same.

Let’s show Mr. Meyerhoff that 100 percent of alumni are supporting the program."

"The Meyerhoff Scholarship undergraduate and graduate programs are exemplary in fulfilling the UMBC mission of promoting academic excellence. Let us show our appreciation of Mr. and Mrs. Meyerhoff, Dr. Hrawbowski, and all program staff for their support by making a contribution that will help as many scholars as possible to fulfill their dreams."
