My Big Idea

Got a story idea? Think we should profile a particular professor, alumna/us or staff member? Submit ideas for stories and the magazine in general by completing the form below.

"In My Own Words"

We want to hear your thoughts -- in your own words. UMBC Magazine is seeking first-person essays for a monthly online feature called "In My Own Words." Every month, we will accept short works up to 250 words on a variety of pre-determined topics. Submissions will be considered for both the print and online versions of UMBC Magazine. If your essay is chosen, you will be contacted by a member of the UMBC Magazine staff at the e-mail address or phone number you provide.

Monthly Essay Topics:
